Millions of Pakistanis living abroad send mobile credit home country every week. If you’ve been topping up a Telenor Pakistan number, you’ve probably heard about its merger with Ufone. As of 1 July 2026, Telenor Pakistan has officially merged with Ufone.

If your family still uses a Telenor SIM, don’t worry. Their phone number stays the same, their SIM continues to work, and you can still send them credit. The main change is the network behind the service. Here’s what the merger means and how to keep sending top-ups without any confusion.

What Happened to Telenor Pakistan?

After receiving all required regulatory and legal approvals, Telenor Pakistan officially merged with Ufone on 1 July 2026. The transaction combined Telenor Pakistan with Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), the company that operates Ufone.

For customers, the change is largely happening behind the scenes. Existing SIM cards, phone numbers, active packages, and mobile services continue to work while the two networks are integrated over time.

Pakistan now has three major mobile operators instead of four: Moving on to what this reshuffled market actually looks like now.

What Does This Mean for Former Telenor Users?

If your family uses a Telenor Pakistan SIM, you don’t need to replace it or ask them to register a new number.

During the transition:

  • Their phone number stays the same.
  • Existing SIM cards continue to work.
  • Calls, texts, and mobile data remain active.
  • You can continue sending mobile top-ups as usual.

Although the Telenor brand will gradually be phased out, the customer experience remains largely unchanged while the integration continues.

Talk Home App still supports Telenor top-ups via the Telenor Pakistan top-up page,  so you can continue sending as you have been while the integration completes. Now let us look at Ufone as the surviving entity,  and what it offers.

Ufone After the Merger

With the merger complete, Ufone has become one of Pakistan’s largest mobile networks, serving millions of customers across the country. The integration also expands Ufone’s coverage by bringing together infrastructure from both networks, helping improve connectivity in many urban and rural areas.

For people living abroad, the process remains simple: enter your family’s mobile number, confirm the detected network, and complete the top-up as you normally would.

Pakistan Country Code and Number Format

Before sending a mobile top-up, make sure the recipient’s number is entered in the correct international format.

Pakistan’s country code is +92.

When sending from abroad, simply remove the leading 0 from the local number and replace it with +92.

Correct format example

Local: 0333 123 4567  →  International: +92 333 123 4567

Save all Pakistani numbers in your contacts in full international format. It helps avoid common typing mistakes.
